The issue isn’t just the gross amount of money these pitchers make. It’s that the Dodgers are the only team willing and able to afford paying so much for guys who only play half a season, at best.

The Brewers had 6 pitchers make a combined 130 starts this season. In total, those 6 pitchers made around $20MM in salary.

The Dodgers paid Tyler Glasnow, who’s never made more than 22 starts in a single season and who made all of 18 this year, $32.5MM this season.
