It looks like YouTube did away with the "list view" option on the Subscription page so my screen is just covered with video thumbnails now and it's easier to accidentally miss one.

Just another case of YouTube realizing that their website is TOO user-friendly and "fixing" it.

(Granted there's some bias on my part being a Silent Hill fan who hates the movies and also a fan of Markiplier, so this whole thing is cathartic for me) (2/2)

I think the more interesting story is that Iron Lung is coming out so soon after Return to Silent Hill. An indie film about an indie game is outperforming a more mainstream movie about a popular game franchise. (1/2)

Pyramid Head has become such a joke.

Revelations is not boring, I'll give it that.

No, he actually retcons it--the fire that caused the ash to rain down (because of course it's ash again) was started only a few years before the movie takes place and there's no connection to Alessa or that cult. So it basically takes place in an alternate universe.

That headstone reveal TOOK ME OUT! I kind of rolled over in my chair laughing and going "Yeah, sure! Everybody is Mary! Oops, all Marys!"

There were a couple shots/concepts that were kinda neat.

But yeah, once again, Gans leans into the idea that the spirit of Silent Hill is nothing but visuals, and the story can just be anything. (2//2)

Not that it should come as any surprise, but yes, Return to Silent Hill is bad.

It's not AS bad as Revelations--it's not constantly hitting you over the head with its stupidity--but it's generally dumb and ineffective. None of the changes make it a better story, just a different thing. (1/2)
