The Jays wear baby blue sometimes!

Oh Marnie I am so, so sorry.

We don’t get a lot of kids— partially because other areas nearby do huge displays, partially because a LOT of houses on our streets don’t turn their lights on so no one comes down here. And with the Jays game on it really died down quickly around 7:30.

I let kids pick what chocolate bar they wanted from a selection of: Kit Kat, Aero, Coffee Crisp, Smarties, Wunderbar, Mr Big, Caramilk, Dairy Milk, Crunchie, and Crispy Crunch.

We have Crispy Crunch, Crunchie, Wunderbar, and Coffee Crisp leftover.

Omg. I hope he likes KD at much as Jules enjoys a raw potato 😂😂😂

Ooooh she would have enjoyed a pickle, too but I don’t know about spicy

She always eats a few raw pieces when I’m chopping potatoes but just straight eating a raw potato she got while trick or treating… 😩

One house gave my child a raw potato and she is eating it.

Oh that’s wild! Everyone in town knows where my girls’ kindergarten teacher lives because it’s right in the middle of our (tiny) town and she’s taught here foreverrrr. She sees students everywhere and I always wonder if she’s ever over it.

Kids complimenting my candy selection honestly makes my night.

I did it. Abby went from a very skeptical “you know I don’t *neeed* Thing…” at the start of my attempt to “that’s not bad, actually” by the end. It isn’t good! But it exists! I have duct taped it to her coat!

Bought Abby a Thing for her Wednesday costume because I didn’t feel like the mess of papier-mâché and she left it at school today so now I’m hastily making a hand out of a paper bag HAPPY HALLOWEEN

(We have lost many mittens and gloves since they started refusing the clips but we had a good run)

I affixed a fedora to the top of J’s pickle costume using old mitten clips. The kids were skeptical about them holding securely but we didn’t lose one single mitten in 4 years of kindergarten so I believe in the clips 🫡

Done! Now we need to put up porch decorations. Then take it all down in 2 days.

We finally got to pumpkin carving tonight! This angle doesn’t show it well but I’m so impressed with her carving the maple leaf.

We have been so busy between kid activities and watching Blue Jays games (it’s a full time job!) that we haven’t watched a single Halloween movie this year.

Friend’s tween son made a 6-7 joke when asked to rate his pain post-surgery. Not letting the haze of pain meds get in the way of a laugh!

So many people have gorgeous tattoos but I do sometimes think about the kids from my dorm who all got random little tattoos on a whim our first week of uni. How do they feel about those choices? (None were nazi symbols, thank everything)

(We get sunlight like 5:30-9pm in June/July and I just have to remember it will be light again one morning. Some day.)

Having to leave the house for work or school when it looks like the dead of night is so rude. Should be illegal. Everyone should just get to sleep in for a few months.

I don’t care either way just because we live in a place with just not enough daylight hours in the winter. Even with the time change the sunrise will be after 7:30 and sunset before 5pm in December so… whatever. Just make the changing stop 😭

Watching a show with the girls and they made a joke about the stereotype of Canadians saying “sorry” all the time so I had to explain that to them. They’re feeling very defensive about it 😂 “that’s just being POLITE!”

They’re so cozy! Abby has one she wears to/from the arena. Crocs, sweats, comfy, toque. It’s a whole vibe.

I have nearly completed a series of little, annoying errands that I put off or forgot all last week. One more (buy stamps) and then I’m getting my reward (a latte)

We don’t have BJs so we got ours from Costco and I got a box of Takis for non-chocolate people plus a thing of Goldfish for the littlest kids.

I really hated the way the paperwork referred to it as a “blood product.” I know what it is but do we need to say it like that?

The jays have used literally everyone on the bench so if anyone gets hurt they’ll need to SUCK IT UP.
