Being a "doomer" can just mean you want change to happen quicker.

Because who on earth would want to accelerate processes that will make life intolerable for all of us?

For example, making a high street car free won't stop the climate changing but it would improve the lives of a community now..

I believe the worse climate change gets the more likely we are to vote for those that will oppress us.

This is because populist politicians lie and promise the earth whereas the reality realistically involves personal sacrifice, change (uncertainty) and upheaval.
