A bit over 12 years ago I was so lucky to see my second solar eclipse in totality. We had driven up into the cairns hinterland in an attempt to avoid coastal cloud. You can see how close we were to missing it. Once an eclipse tragic, always a tragic.

TIL, if possible they retrieve items dropped from the platform while the train is still at the station. Impressive

Socialising is a lot more effort these days. I swear you need a qualification in events management or workforce planning to make anything happen if participants are a) over 40, b) have family c) you need to plan a year in advance if both apply.

Geez this stuff is icky…

My kids have possibly never watched Sesame Street. This feels somewhat outrageous given the amount of children’s media they do consume…

Not cheap, but my breville barista touch is my favourite appliance. Took a while to get it grinding/pulling the right dose, but I’ve used it every day since October 2021 and I have never once thought “I wish I’d bought a cafe coffee instead”

I’ve become someone who enjoys paint-by-numbers type things. I guess that too might have been inevitable.

I love my children, but sheesh it’s time they went to school. These holidays have gone on forever If parenthood is about anything, it’s about marking milestones. First steps, first words, first teeth. The first day of school can’t come quickly enough.

I think I need to practice some gratitude today. It hasn’t been the easiest parenting morning. So here goes:

I was attempting to return a pair of jeans I’d bought online, to the physical store that had sent them, which I thought would’ve been easy, but apparently not. And then I realised my four year old had decided to start playing hide and seek in the store. Without telling me. 0/10 Do not recommend.
