It speaks to the community pride that has exploded in recent years, under the leadership of Prez J Luke Wood and President Nelsen and the great work of Jennifer A. Barber leading the association.

We've got an incredible board carrying on the work. As I've said many times, if we had the caliber of applicants eight years ago as we have today, I'd never have been selected for the board and if we had the caliber of nominees three years ago I'd never have been President.

The California Research Bureau has updated its Legislative Demographics interactive. The Legislature remains “majority minority” with 66 members of color and is nearly evenly divided with 57 female members.
