It was gross having to listen to all of my squishy heart noises this morning. Hopefully they are all normal ones (I can’t tell)

It’s hack to complain about the word moist, but god I hate the word custard

I am very, very fortunate to be where I am with easy access to this stuff and employer insurance where they can just. Like. Casually order a $5k test and only charge me $30 for it. That is not lost on me.
My brothers are uninsured, so they just have to worry about the possibility for now

Well I called to schedule the echocardiogram my dad’s surgeon urged me to get and they are fitting me in on Friday morning. This isn’t even urgent and everyone is taking it very seriously, which is great, but it also makes for a stressful week of hospital visits

Wow it turns out the entire country is not permanently reactionary because Trump won an election by 1.5%

Quite relieved that the surgeon got through to him about that last bit, so happy to hear the recovery time is way less than expected, scared for him anyway. You probably know how it is if you’ve been on this planet for more than 2 days

For the like 2ish people following me who know my dad: he’s being scheduled for heart surgery in January, his heart is about 2x enlarged from his mitral valve failing. They’re going to put a ring in, + also in his tricuspid valve if necessary. Prognosis is good (~1mo recovery) w/ surgery and bad w/o

Dealing with insurance is like: Your medication is approved! Just kidding no it’s not. Um, why haven’t you picked up the medicine? Come get it right now. Why are you trying to get this it’s not approved? I know you don’t need this medicine for 2 months but come get it now or else. 🫣

I don’t want to go to the store to get stuff for decorating icing so I was like. What can I do with plain. The real answer is snickerdoodles but this was the middle stage of ideas

I have to bring something to a Halloween potluck for work and I don’t really have any spooky cookie cutters for the sugar cookies I wanted to bake so I was going to use a gingerbread man and be like “this cookie represents the real horror- man’s inhumanity to man”

This is the Wrong response to all of this but every time I think about how much I have to catch my therapist up on from the last 2 weeks I do find it a little bit funny how much of a No Good Very Bad Day situation I have going on

My dad let us know today that he has to have cardiac surgery for a mitral valve prolapse. He’s at home and not sure whether it’s going to be open heart surgery or robotic at this point yet but the next appointment with the cardiologist is in a couple of weeks

I have very small feet so I’m limited to shopping the womens and kids sections. It sucks to see so many shoes I’d wear that don’t fit, and have to scour the other sections for something that doesn’t scan as an obviously womens or kids’ shoe. Plus kids shoes are built to be outgrown fast

Shoe shopping is a personal hell for me. I wore a hole straight through the sole of my hiking boots because I’ve worn them nearly every day for 3 years, made a sincere effort to go to several physical stores to look for a replacement, and just ended up ordering the same brand anyway
