If you don’t β€œfeel,” watching The Great British Bake Off, you’re a terrible person, with a fetid soul.

I always leaned toward swashbuckling Daredevil and his mid-card villains, the Mr. Fears and Gladiators of the Marvel universe. Waid leans into the Marvelness of it all (FF Omega Drive) and delightful sensory language (β€œHer perfume cuts through the rain like a siren”), so hard. It’s pitch-perfect.

Getting in the spirit, and filling in Universal monster blind spots. Lon Chaney's dogged pursuit of Gwen is a rough watch. She's fiancé’d up, and the dude just hounds her- popping up at her work, peeping through a telescope, all before he gets bit.

Motorcycles, ultra-violence, monsters and guns. What more could a thirteen-year-old ask for? Spirits of Vengeance screamed ’90s, and for the life of me I don’t understand why the full run hasn’t been scanned.

What a bonkers series. Dripping in imagination and dense with Apocalypse lore, which, scrolling through my reading habits, is apparently my jam? (That and Jerome OpeΓ±a.)

Watching: The Deep. Proto-Into the Blue. Spielberg had Bruce the Shark. Yates had Jacqueline Bisset.

β€œNever doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead. It’s a COVID movie. Look at what we can do, together. Move heaven and earth.

Kirkman and Ottley's Battle Beast. Like Liefeld's Bloodwulf and Marvel's Champion of the Universe made it.

In my old age, I’ve become an iPad-comics guy. Other than a few random Classic X-Mens, I’m reading Claremont’s run on Uncanny for the first time. It’s gloriously bonkers. Overstuffed with ideas and ambition.

Or he loses and then Okada has a credible reason to go for the title and Take needs to prove himself.

I remember being ape shit when I picked up Infinity Gauntlet #4 and it was Ron Lim instead of George Perez. Starlin's Strange Tales was in my uncle's stack of comics at my grandma's house. Wild then, wild now.

Aaron’s Ghost Rider is grindhouse VHS box gloriousness. Frenzied, trashy, terrific. Rekindling Mackie’s Spirits of Vengeance buddy-movie magic. (@jason-aaron.bsky.social here’s an attaboy to start your long weekend right.)

Digging into my inspiration folders gives me life, man. Especially with all this moral rot. THE ROGUES' GALLERY GRAND PRIX. Just a lil' story about integrity... and a Batmobile heist. A Fury Road demolition derby with Suicide Squad dirtbags. #scriptsky

Claremont must have pitched Wolverine's ongoing as his WWII adventures in the South Pacific. A setup that gave Marvel an ongoing while he handled X-Men business in the present. Uncanny #268 nails how the idea could've worked.

Always with the killer prompts. This is such my jam. Any project I start, I have an ever-growing inspiration folder. DIVE BAR. A genre-blending feature about overcoming self-imposed limitations… and smooching a were-shark. #scriptsky
