Likewise Tom. Massive loss.

If you see people raising #flags , film them. Time on their hands when they likely should be actively seeking work as agreed by claiming job seekers allowance. The physical ability to climb lamp posts, whilst claiming incapacity benefit. Buying flags but exploiting food banks. Vandals not volunteers

She's either had an epiphany, or it's a last ditch attempt to come out on the right side of history. If you spend 20 years encouraging far right armed militias, fuelling their conspiracy theories, you've left it a bit late to now say "Hey, over here! Is it just me..., or are these people dangerous?"

2k is too much. Should be ยฃ500 maximum. Just scrap the scheme, it's not fit for purpose. Support community lead bike refurbishment projects instead.

But unfortunately the current scheme is massively abused by people who just want to get the most expensive bike for weekends, have no intention of cycling to work and no intention of paying off the remainder when they change job. It's these people that ate marginalising opportunity for the disabled

Bless them, they've heard the adults say "Overton window" so they're trying to make a sentence. But as an excuse to just say bad things. The idea is that the window follows what people are okay with in the centre. Saying unacceptable opinions doesn't move the window. Far Right is still Far Right.

There it is. You hid it for a while but at the end of the day Labour are Blairite chancers that won't do a thing for a foreigner if you can't exploit them. Now the unemployable antisocial dregs you relied on to make up the voter numbers have gone to Reform, you're showing your true colours again.

First impressions. Anybody with a back combed, hairsprayed comb-over and orange skin like that, has a problem with reality.

I'm fairly certain slander and defamation laws in the U.S. are completely different to the UK. It's just another Trump grift and an opportunist punt to suppress journalism. The irony being, the unedited speech is far worse, but boring, incoherent gaslighting drivel which is probably why it was cut.

All the commentary, ask yourself if you'd care if she was a white ageing male sycophant, nodding along with a smile, asking no probing questions... would you care?

I wonder if it's because she's brown? Too many racist viewers? I followed a Twitter thread where Naga reached out to somebody, who was making seemingly serious imminent suicidal comments. She was really kind to this stranger, and checked in several times after. Only a good person does that.

Anemoia - fake nostalgia for a time you didn't experience and can't remembe. It's central to Far right propaganda. It seems to really appeal to people who've never shown any other interest in researching history, but it's probably easier to fantasise when you've never read a book or passed a GCSE.

The UK Bikeclub charity study found that 34% of British adults have at least one adult bicycle that is currently unused, and 15% have an unused child's bike. Given the UK's adult population, this suggests millions of bikes are sitting idle.

I could carry on, an upturn in bicycle sales, which doesn't mean much as the industry has flatlined, does not change the facts that there are plenty of refurbish-able bikes

Transport for London estimate an annual total of 27,500 potentially maintainable discarded bicycles are collected in London alone.

โ€‹North London Waste Authority did a study that indicated that nationally, more than 11,000 bicycles are thrown away each year. This figure likely underestimates the total discarded bikes, as it only accounts for those thrown away when "damaged."

Halfords' partnership with Re-Cycle alone has collected over 90,000 bikes that "would otherwise have ended up in landfills" since 2013.

13.11.2025 18:31 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Seriously? There's surplus bikes that just need minor repairs everywhere. I was in a meeting today where we were discussing what to do with a lockup with at least 20 mountain bikes it. The problem is the public tend to think new+shiny+cheap = better, they need educating about the quality difference.

13.11.2025 18:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The thing is, "cheap commuter models" will be new crap bikes. They're are numerous community lead bikecrefurnishment charities that with the right support and exposure can supply much better quality bikes affordably than can be manufactured new.

Rachel Reeves to cut tax benefits for workers using salary sacrifice schemes to buy bikes Chancellor expected to introduce new limit on how much can be spent on a bicycle through cycle to work scheme

I never thought I'd agree with Reeves but Cycle to Work has always been a grift and not fit for purpose. The people thst need it most can't access it. People that can usually buy a weekender but continue to drive to work. Support grass roots bike refurbishment. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

My kids have bikes, not Ipads. I see your point, but they're out riding anyway in a city with almost no cycle lanes. I'd rather they were out cycling now than saying they will when there's a cycle path. Saying "Build it and they will come" in a city with no plans for infrastructure, is not advocacy.

I find the slogan "lest we forget" quite patronising. We had to study WW1 and WW2 extensively at school while the Iraq war was actually happening but that never got a mention.

The irony and cost to the taxpayer will be completely lost on them. Say they can't work, but can climb lampposts. A pointless childish pastime because they don't work, and don't pay taxes.

We've got another 1000 years? We'll be lucky if we last another 100. Its a good saying though as is: "Say they can't work, but can climb a lampost". "Anemoia" meaning fake nostalgia for a time you didn't experience and can't remember [nationalism], a term and a concept that we need to talk about.

Nigeria is earmarked for AI data centres and is spending a lot on training AI developers. Also Nigeria has a leading cryptocurrency market as the government recently passed the Investments & Securities Act (ISA 2025), which officially recognises crypto as a transferable (spendable) financial asset.

The inversion of this is the "worldview backfire effect": critical exposure and factual challenges interpreted as proof of a coordinated attack by a hostile, liberal establishment. โ€‹The leader's a persecuted figure, an anti-establishment fighter. When actually, their just a basic grifting racist.

The traditional journalistic maxim, "give someone enough rope, and they will hang themselves" meaning extended, unfiltered public exposure will inevitably reveal flaws or contradictions leading to followers reconsidering, is clearly less effective against Far-Right groups and their uneducated rabble
