the parklets are continuous (unlike Santa Cruz, they take up entire blocks), have free outdoor seating, and appear to have been implemented at no cost to the businesses (also unlike SC).
lets hope the city’s overt support for the businesses overshadows the loss of parking and the pilot can continue!

my pictures don’t do it justice, but they’ve added street furniture, parklets, curb bulb outs, and have free public seating in our downtown plaza (and in the parklets) - can’t state enough how important it is to have free public spaces for people to exist in!

the san fernando blvd reconfiguration project in downtown burbank has completely transformed the area and made it a much safer and pleasant place to exist outside of a car. efforts like these make me believe it’s feasible to live car free in my hometown one day 🙏🏽
