Illinois already sends more money to the federal government than we get back. This is blatant political retribution, and it's deeply unfair to the over 430,000 people impacted by intense storms last summer.

Trump has denied FEMA disaster relief funds for communities in my district across Boone, Cook, Kane, McHenry, and Will counties. Trump explicitly tied this disaster relief to politics—saying that relief funds he granted Alaska and North Dakota were because they voted for him "BIG" in past elections.

It was great to be in Bolingbrook this past weekend for the Black History Month Awareness Club's annual celebration!

Black history is American history. This month and every month, we honor the contributions and resilience of Black Americans.

A first step, but not enough. This won’t bring back the lives lost. Bovino is only part of the problem. Kristi Noem has destroyed all trust in DHS by repeatedly lying to the public, and her leadership there has been a complete failure. If Trump won’t hold her accountable, Congress must impeach her.

We have the right to peacefully protest, and we must continue to show up and demand that Trump, Kristi Noem, and the entire administration end this abuse of power. This is not the America we know. This is not the America future generations deserve.

I was heartened to see nearly 2,000 people out today, despite the 16-degree weather, standing together to honor Alex Pretti and Renee Good and to speak out against ICE.

The administration must stop these operations before anyone else is hurt or killed.

Another person has been killed by ICE in Minneapolis. This violence is beyond disturbing, and it’s the predictable outcome of poorly trained agents carrying out operations designed to intimidate and terrorize our communities.

A productive conversation about AI's impact on the global economy and America's role in the future should have been Trump's focus, not his weekly grievances.
