Orphan Black has one of the best pilot episodes I've ever seen. Worth checking out for that first episode alone. It sets up the mystery incredibly well and asks a really cool, fun question.

Throughout the series you'd probably recognize actors from other stuff, too. Kinda fun when they appear.

PG13 horror: The Changeling (1980).

I'm thinking you want horror short stories as well?

Never Whistle at Night: An Indigenous Dark Fiction Anthology

Wounds: Six Stories from the Border of Hell by Nathan Ballingrud

Horror shorts for seniors: John Langan and Brian Evenson have great collections.

These are more like sub-genres that I eventually want to try to write:

1. Time travel or time loop
2. something that takes place over one night

It's just a matter of finding the right take / concept that excites you enough to want to tackle it.

The only one I can think of that matches that description is PLAN B.

I've only seen the first season starring Patrick J. Adams but it was pretty good. Worth watching.

Things that show up in my scripts:

1. objects falling on heads (or just missing)

2. fire (things or people burning)

3. drowning or choking

These are just based on fears I have that I've noticed in my work. Wild.

It's become an intuitive process for me. I know it when I see/feel it.

There's usually a single thing that captures my attention. It could be a unique setting...

Or a fantastical element that excites me.

Five random things about me.

1. I almost drowned when I was 6. My parents don't even know!

2. I love cold weather.

3. I have this irrational fear of things falling on my head.

4. I've been in three car accidents. Final Destination!

5. I once had my ears, nose, and lip pierced at the same time.

What are your top 3 horror films of 2024 so far?

1. Cuckoo
2. Late Night with the Devil
3. Oddity

Looking forward to watching Love Lies Bleeding before the year is out. Never thought of it as horror, though. Makes me even more intrigued to watch it.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.

The Shadow Strays

It delivered what it promised.

I did find the english speaking moments clunky but once they switch back to the main language it was much smoother.

Was it too long? Probably. But it was still epic and entertaining and worth watching if you enjoy violent action movies.
