I get that, I just don't understand why every council leader & National Association of Local Councils isn't collectively & loudly telling everyone that the reason their local services are in the bin is because central government refuses to pay for stuff they're legally bound to provide.

I have yet to understand why no council has yet very loudly stood up and said "No fuck you, these are statutory requirements, central government has to pay for it". Not even Andy Burnham has done that one.

It has only just occurred to me that Sinclair, a company that loved to make cheap consumer electronics, never made their own official cassette tape drive for the ZX80/81/Spectrum computers. This seems like a really obvious thing for them to have sold, and they just, never did?
