3/ One has to build a core that has the mass that centrists will buy in. More a coalition of the left (Mamdani like). And look, if Mamdani does well, centrists will join, because he will be the status quo.

Centrists are not dependable allies. (Which is why they are centrists). They flop.

2/ The idea that they are at all close to the changes Sanders would be for, is largely a mirage.
Like their support for Biden vanished to be against him (who they were nominally closer to than Sanders).
If one likes Sanders, the key is reaching those closer than centrists.

1/The problem with centrists is that they are largely transactional and largely ok with the status quo. They are the sort of people who buy in after something has already reached a critical mass.
They don't like Trump's change, and they are only closer to Sanders in stopping that.

No executive order should exist without statutory rationale attached to it. Which should also be the only basis for a defense of it if challenged in the courts.

The Republicans have lost any thread to morality. And are engaged in an active extralegal campaign of hate and abuse.

Although true as to funding, I try not draw direct parallels at this point to Republicans because they are different.

I still feel Dems have better angels to appeal to.

Most Dems in office don't care what people think. They care about what donors think, and what marketers tell them people think. They don't engage with people except through advertisements run through marketers and donors. That includes post put up here by most Dems

I hate the way the Denver Post, like most so-called news organizations, prioritize the incumbent as being challenged instead of both running for the position. Incumbency doesn't give a right to office.
But so much reporting assumes so.

Trump only finds it a problem because it wasn't taken over by the far right. That is his problem. But CNBC would never put that in a headline.
