Still vexed it was the ONLY audiobook option, though. There were probably pragmatic reasons for this, but if I had sensory issues I could NOT have stuck it out.

To complete a series I had to listen to about 5 GraphicAudio recordings and I concede it wasn't bad like the first couple times I attempted it with other books. Man, I hate not being right 100% of the time lol

I do NOT want a theatrical adaptation of the paranormal romance I'm reading, it's only one step above listening to a TV show, but with extra cheesiness and no ability to glance up and visually parse nuances. /rant

The uncomfortable thing about social media is anything said comes at least in part from ego, even if it's a scream into the void.

So here is just my opinion.

This is not business as usual; this is a budding dictatorship. I do not think what we've learned from the American Civil rights movement is going to help us much here, because the conditions don't fully apply, even though civil rights are on the line.

but my concept of egalitarianism makes presuming to do so tinge of egoism. I'm not against a certain amount of egoism - I'm very much an individualist, and I don't think that is incompatible with living cooperatively in society.

As I taught my reluctant Gen Z teen how to shave my head this morning, I realized once again that, ironically, it's the kid who is cramping my style, rather than vice versa. 😅
