19.02.2026 10:45 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I wanted to see if electronics design is going down the same AI drain that way software engineering appears to be, so I tried flux.ai.
Short story even shorter: We're fine.
They did, however, get the engineering behaviour right in that it ignored what I was saying and did its own thing anyway ..
Next stage is OTA :)
14.02.2026 22:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But they all still have that same blasted design language that makes the screen(s) look like an afterthought. I don't want a car that looks like I personally screwed a monitor to a blank bit on the instrument panel.
10.02.2026 12:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was hoping to find a T31X or similar when I got in there, but not so & all the IDs had been lasered off.
Honestly, the ESP32 is the wrong device for camera steaming, but I want to dual-purpose this as the basis for a course on robotics, so it needs to be simple!
Seriously, how can Aliexpress be selling the complete enclosure, including pan & tilt servos, IR + daylight LEDs, microphone, speaker and <disposable> camera bits for this little money?
The prototype works well, plus I get make it to do useful things, like full-resolution YUV capture.
A wifi outdoor camera lying on a workmat. The front face has been removed an placed to the side. The innards are on display, showing a hand-wired pcb and multicolour wiring.
Fed up with your cheap security camera's buggy, half-arsed software? Can't trust it not to P2P your images around the world?
Then buy one for Β£18, rip out the electronics and replace them with your own. This prototype is plain ESP32-based, but the final design will be an S3 on a custom PCB.
Over the last decade, I've realised that the reality of 'checks and balances' is oversold.
In the US (and UK) politicians' actions are only governed by what is conscionable. If enough people believe it, then it can be done.
Justice (or revenge) is then only possible after a change of Government.
Very good explanation, but the matrix is not static. As time wears on and we learn how likely pronouncement will be in practice, the boundaries between the colours move. The T-social posts are always designed to be scary, but the likelihood of damage diminishes as mitigations are put in place.

This reminded me of the early 80's when defence s/w was forcing us to move from C to Ada and there was a consequent backlash in the other direction. I remember hearing the phrase "strong typing is a crutch for people with weak memories" shouted loudly.

09.10.2025 13:10 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's horses for courses, === is a useful thing to have in a weakly-typed language. Once you know why it's there it becomes a tool just like any other. btw, even after s/w engineering for 40+ years I've yet to come across the perfect language.
09.10.2025 10:15 β π 29 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When I look at a robotic approximation of an animated face, I look at the blink first, and it's always wrong. Humans don't blink just using up and down motion of their eyelids. There is a sideways motion as the muscles contract towards the nose.

I was blown away by both of these, so impossible to decide.
I've tinkered with a few of your models on ShaderToy in the past, but I can't even see how you started this one.
Or you could try chatting with a LLM. Discourse is what they were intended for rather than world domination.

Washing machine gave up a few days ago. The BLDC Motor controller was to blame - 20 days and Β£160 for a full replacement, so decided to repair.
Getting the thing out and removing the 3mm conformal coating on both sides of the PCB for diagnosing and H-Bridge replacement made me wish I hadn't.
I'm just a simple man, but it reads as though they're getting energy from fresh water moving to salty water, just a short distance away from a plant putting energy into moving fresh water out of salty water.

'Generative AI' is nowhere near distinct enough to use as a pejorative term. My own research is in generative mechanisms that enable patterns to be found in the large datasets posited by the OP.
If you want specific terms use the company names that are pushing the junk you're referring to instead.
