I keep coming back to the idea that reality has a bias. You don’t need to present arguments from multiple angles unless the arguments are actually credible, and credible doesn’t just mean convenient or supported by a lot of people. Sometimes things just are. To pretend otherwise leads to this.

The fact that some of these nations are saying anything at all is a huge step away from previously held positions. Even though it (reasonably) may not be seen as enough by a lot of people, it’s important to note how big of a move this actually is.

One of my friends who I’ve known since we were three years old came out as trans when we were in our late twenties. There’s a learning curve for adjusting name/pronoun usage there after decades of habit, but like… just try? You don’t even have to get it right every time, the effort is what matters.
