i worked in digital media before it was (mostly) unionized. i used to write 10 or more blog posts a week for an alt-weekly for $30 (or less) a pop. worked at bustle for bucks a day. i am keenly aware of how little media CEOs value workers.

doing creative work in a corporate environment makes the hostility that business bros have for creative work SO abundantly clear. they do not want to pay us, they do not respect us, they think they could easily do our jobs but not us theirs.

also it would be great if people understood that the only reason that generative AI took off more than NFTs or whatever is that CEOs believe they can eliminate jobs with it. there is literally no other reason.

remember when we all needed to buy NFTs? or learn the blockchain?? or the pivot to video?

these motherfuckers have always lied and i do not understand how otherwise intelligent people keep believing them
