It is a wonderful game. It was an absolute blast to run it and I hope my games convinced at least some of the players to buy ot.

Uninteresting notes
It is a wonderful game. It was an absolute blast to run it and I hope my games convinced at least some of the players to buy ot.
07.08.2025 23:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So what I got from this is that I should put EVEN MORE TWISTS in my scenarios lol. But, seriously, it is very good to hear such feedback for my WtA scenario. Looks like people are enjoying the exposure to other cultures. That means I need to write more about Kazakhstan!
07.08.2025 03:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0- Loved that it was set in Kazakstan and loved in the inclusion of culture and language
- I enjoyed how the storyteller helped get everyone involved
Werewolf:
- I really enjoyed the GM bringing the Kazakhstan setting and mythology into the game. Allowed me to learn something new and helped flesh out the setting very well. GM was very good at keeping the game moving by dropping new clues to follow without giving away the mystery too soon
- Easy to roll and understand, fail forwards were good, dm was attentive and rolled with the punches
- I think the story telling was excellent, the story was good, and the GM did a good job of Yes Anding and allowing us to explore.
Some highlights from the reviews:
Our Brilliant Ruin
- The mystery leading players into making the worst assumptions about the NPCs and causing destruction to each other.

This year the reviews gave better feedback that was actually about me though, last year it was all "the system is fun, the scenario was so so".
07.08.2025 03:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's kinda irritating when you tell people "please don't judge the scenario (last year) or the system (both)" and they end up only mentioning those!!! Guys, your "system is cool but the scenario was railroady" is NOT helpful! I have nothing to do with either!
07.08.2025 03:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Reading the player surveys. So last year I got 13 reviews and the average rating was 9.15. This year I got 12 reviews and the average was 9.75. I count that as progress lol.
07.08.2025 03:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is is the face of "I went to GenCon and came back with destroyed vocal cords and bank account." Not sure when I will recover financially, but I am still coughing and surviving on cough drops and tea with honey.
07.08.2025 03:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And, of course, the loot! All of the loot! I barely fit everything in my suitcase. It ended up being overweight but the guy at the check-in desk let it pass because he was so impressed. The suitcase did not survive, sadly. And my bank account is making a police report for abuse.
07.08.2025 03:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Got to run 6 sessions, 3 games:
3 sessions of Our Brilliant Ruin
2 sessions of Werewolf: the Apocalypse
1 session of Welcome to Night Vale
All games were amazing. It really makes a difference when you run your own material in comparison to someone else's.
Saw Call of Cthulhu live by The Glass Cannon Network. Amazing as always. Got photos with Noura Ibrahim, Kate Stamas and Troy Lavallee (I got a photo with Skid last year)
07.08.2025 03:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also met Andrew Peregrine and told him all about the shenanigans that my players got into while playing Dune. Had a good laugh. And got an autograph from one of the new Kung-Fu Panda RPG (yes, that's a thing, apparently). Sadly, I don't remember his name.
07.08.2025 02:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Caleb Stokes - author of the Delta Green: God's Teeth and Red Markets
Kenneth Hite - author of too many things, such as Trail of Cthulhu, Night's Black Agent, Fall of Delta Green, as well as lead designer of Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition
Ross Payton - GM and host of RPPR Actual Play.
Celebrity time! Paul Fricker and Mike Mason of Call of Cthulhu
07.08.2025 02:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well, folks, you know what time it is. It is time for GENCON PHOTO DUMP!!!
07.08.2025 02:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"Man is a wolf to man and a dragon to the inhuman."
- "Empire of Silence: The Sun Eater: Book One" by Christopher Ruocchio
Looks like the fine folks at the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society have released a set of audio files to be used as player handouts with the Delta Green campaign "God's Teeth."
You're welcome.

South Park is not fucking around. I'd share screenshots but I don't want to get de***ted π
25.07.2025 13:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wanted to spend the long weekend finishing my GenCon scenarios. Ended up sleeping 11-13 hours a day, reading Christopher Ruocchio's The Sun Eater and listening to Kardashev.
07.07.2025 03:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fixing teeth is such a pain in the ass. I am more than halfway in my Invisalign treatment and I'm tired of it. The worst part is that when I take the trays out even for 30 mins to eat, when I put them back my teeth hurt because they've already shifted back π₯²
01.07.2025 03:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hot take, but... I don't think that people talking to or having relationships with AI is a problem. Relationships are hard. We're living during a loneliness pandemic. Let people find some comfort, life is hard as it is. I know folks who are genuinely doing better due to this.
25.06.2025 03:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So you're saying that I would be able to save money and not be in debt if I stopped buying RPG books and going to GenCon every year? Get out of here with stupid ideas like that.
25.06.2025 03:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm watching a YouTube video about The Room and apparently the main character was supposed to be a vampire who had a flying car. So the question here: Is Tommy Wiseau a Malkavian or a particularly eccentric Toreador?
25.06.2025 02:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Watched Dave Thaumavore's review of The Electric State and now I want to run it. I have the book but somehow completely forgot about it.
23.06.2025 04:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Almost 16 hours of sleep... Worth it.
