And I do get your point about not provoking people - but I'm not willing to ignore science and the lived experience of other human beings to avoid provoking people. Especially on this issue, where the provocateurs are so clearly operating in bad faith.

And if they go on about biology, ask how they propose to pay for the genetic and hormonal testing required to determine gender? What we learned in grade school is not a full picture by far.

And if they go on about unfairness, perhaps question how fair it was for the little boys who competed against, say, Michael Phelps in school sports?

Or perhaps "trans girls are girls. Why shouldn't girls be allowed to play girls sports?"

Just because a truth is unpopular does not make it less true.
