From the bible:

30:
Passage
Resources Hebrew/Greek Your Co >
12 The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13 Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit.
When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. 14 Then he said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him say it.
15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 1 And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'la? But you have made it 'a den of robbers!!"
18 The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.
19 When evening came, Jesus and his disciples! went out of the city.
20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!"
22 "Have faith in God." Jesus answered. 23 "Truly[d]

My favorite part of that story is that it’s bookended by the story of Jesus cursing the fig tree.

Only eight bishops voted against the letter they’re reading (or didn’t vote). A lot more than eight bishops are on the conservative wing of the conference!!!

Every single time! Epstein will write:

"porsecters h4arrsed me w/ sbuopenas al bcuase tr4ificing myners .due porcess much???no"

and then there's, like, the former president of a university or white house counsel or something replying:

"You're totally right, and also I love you with all my heart."

Exactly what it says on the label: The Pope in 1982. He's wearing a black hat, dark RayBans, and looks like he's a member of the Blues Brothers.

What's from Chicago, hates Illinois Nazis, and is holy as fuck?

It's the Pope in 1982.

I was in several frustrating conversations with bad PMs today, on the flip side, including one who made a 20 slide presentation on the completely wrong project and presented that to an exec.

I think there’s a read where tom is just having a panic attack in front of the bobs, and is much more comfortable with his customers. (I am bob adjacent and have spent a lot of time trying to calm down clients in interviews).

That's been roughly my understanding too, but 1. Feels like extremely weak casus belli (and doesn't explain why we need to do this *now*) and 2. the plan seems incredibly underbaked

Maybe we can pass the spines and letters to everyone’s desk one at a time? Quite a lot of people will want them.

β€˜Stop these crazy bills’: Republicans join Democrats to defeat anti-trans legislation in Montana One bill would remove trans children from their parents, and the other would ban drag shows and Pride marches

Several months ago, the Montana legislature rejected two anti-trans bills after trans legislators gave speeches making the impact concrete. At least in person-to-person interactions, linking these bills to real impact on real people can work. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Yeah we’ve gone through a number of millenarian periods. The specific US Evangelical vision of the rapture is a genuinely recent development though (early 20th century if I recall).

My experience was that Catholics nearly ignore it, as a book. Much much less important than the gospels or Pauline letters.
