Pregnancy is a minefield when you're disabled Few OB-GYNs get disability training—and their disabled patients are far likelier to die.

Disabled people are 11 times more likely to die during labor/in the postpartum period than non-disabled people. Better education and smashing ableism is how we get out of this horrible stat.

It’s really ok to be abortion positive. It can be true that abortion is difficult for some, and easy and affirming for others. Childbirth is also difficult for some and easy and affirming for others. If you’re only policing abortion positivity, might be worth examining where you learned that from.

Not for nothing, but if you are “pro-choice” and also transphobic, you are not serious about undoing the control, white supremacy, and patriarchy that make abortion bans possible

When you’re pregnant and in a medical emergency, you deserve care immediately.

But today, the Trump administration made that harder by rescinding EMTALA’s guidance around abortion care. Let’s call this what it is: an abandonment of responsibility to the lives of pregnant people.

BREAKING: The Trump admin is yanking tens of millions in Title X funding from Planned Parenthood clinics—because apparently, birth control, STI testing, and cancer screenings are just too radical. Their excuse? Clinics dared to mention health equity and serve undocumented patients.

Tomorrow the Supreme Court will hear arguments in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic (previously Kerr v. PP South Atlantic), a case that centers on South Carolina's attempt to kick Planned Parenthood out of its Medicaid program.

Why?

As an abortion advocacy organization, when we advocate for trans rights someone will inevitably ask: “Shouldn’t you just stick to abortion?”

No, we shouldn’t, and we won’t.

Abortion ban “exceptions” are a performance to make anti-abortion extremists look reasonable. They are not. The “exceptions” are meant to be confusing for patients and providers because anti-abortion extremists do not want *anyone* having an abortion, even if it means people die. Don’t be fooled.

It’s not uncommon for non-physicians to dispense medication abortions: Nurse practitioners and midwives are legally authorized to provide medication abortions in over 20 states in the U.S.

We are losing clinicians—fast. People are leaving states with abortion bans. Medical students & residents choose not to train or practice in places where they can't provide evidence-based care. Dobbs + dangerous abortion bans are exacerbating what was already an urgent, dire shortage of providers.
