For the sake of the good lord why must every app (this is Philips Hue) be adding an AI assistant

Amazon is so funny because they really want me to buy a knife I clicked on over a month ago so badly...

Surely items like this should be banned from promoted placements and abandoned flows

4am, defo stopped up late
6am, plausible woke up early
5am is truly the sweet spot for ambiguous work/sleep presentation

5am is the best time to drop your clever deliverable, cause it's like, did I wake up early or did I stop up all night? could go either way

Claude be like "let me just make a quick demo environment for this indulgent side mission I just went on before I finish getting you that deliverable you asked for"

Just watched the first episode of Adolescence and i'm in pieces. I don't think i've cried so much in years. Forgetting all the hysteria around it all, it's a _raw_ display of the uneasy father-son bond. Fantastic opening episode.

Easy AI tool idea: A git difftool mergetool to resolve git conflicts, could use history context and should be pretty strong at the job

Brad Heath (@bradheath.bsky.social) The military is plans to scrub photos of the Enola Gay, one of the bombers that dropped an atomic bomb on Japan, from its website as part of its purge of diversity content. It's among more than 26,0...

honest question: did they just ctrl+f for "gay" bsky.app/profile/brad...

there are plenty of researchers and hobbyists that know more than the type of people trying to get a payday out of this comp sci boom. pls tell me why Pharrell was planted on stage in front of world leaders in Paris? if AI is going to decimate industry, don't let the vultures and monkeys choose

like it's based on some supposition that the people developing these solutions aren't already completely on top of it all. it's basically the suits dropping a plop because they noticed chatgpt and need to stay relevant inside the org structure they're in

it sucks to me as a computer scientist who spends far too much time fannying around with these things that there are now people who know fuck all about anything trying to pass themselves off for big money AI "thinker" positions

Please tell me about retrieval augmented generation, vector embedding databases, the model context protocol, token context optimisation, model parameter relationship to GPU requirement, tool usage, transformers, multilayer perception, neural networks. . . .

Anyone Can Push Updates to the DOGE.gov Website "THESE 'EXPERTS' LEFT THEIR DATABASE OPEN."

Scoop: The databases powering DOGE.gov are insecure, and people outside the government have already pushed their own updates to the site to prove it:

They’ve now fixed the public visibility of personally identifying information, but it’s still very questionable that the app needs to make a request to get the full list of other user registrations (ids and dates still present)

it’s built on a low-code platform called Adalo, there’s a http endpoint, no auth required, which dumps the entire table, with some redacted fields (password is actually masked)
I found it because I was running a mitm proxy when I opened it and the app just makes the request for the table each launch
