I was there two weeks ago and it's definitely visible. Left with the strong impression there's a desperate need for more public restrooms. You should visit Vancouver if you haven't lately.

If I've got the time I'm going 45Β°N - 90Β°W but that's a great roadside marker.

Meet Minnesota’s electric coffee roasting pioneers Minneapolis-based Coffeewomple is one of the first U.S. roasters to use a commercial-scale electric coffee roaster, navigating higher costs for climate…

Loved this profile by @danhaugen.bsky.social on a couple who turned a pandemic-era hobby β€” electric coffee roasting β€” into a business determined to kick gas out of the coffee shop. (His swan song for @canarymedia.com!) www.canarymedia.com/articles/ele...

Two months after its maiden voyage, Sheriff’s Lake Erie patrol boat sinks in marina Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lake Erie patrol boat swamped in marina; probably cause is Lake Erie storm seiche.

The two happiest days of a boat-owning sherriff's life are the day they get a free boat from DHS and the day it sinks two months later. www.portclintonnewsherald.com/story/news/l...

It was Die Kreuzen. My roommate was running the sound board that night. I don't remember it being followed by an explicit rule, but there was certainly a halt to hosting punk shows there for at least a couple of years.

I booked shows there 99-01 and while this is great lore, there was no such rule. There is a story about someone badly injuring their neck at a punk show in the 80s but I forget the band.

Dylan can still catch Prince with one dime-themed album. It doesn't even have to be a good dime-themed album.

Having worked with several amazing individuals after they'd been laid off by APM/MPR, I don't know of another organization that churns through talented people like they do. Hire those people, if you can.

Ethically, Andy Brehm should tell readers he’s a Jacob Frey donor. Journalistically, Star Tribune editors must. www.startribune.com/dsa-public-s...

MinnPost hires metro editor, deputy editor We're excited to welcome Leah Fabel and Dan Haugen to the MinnPost editorial team.

Some personal news! I'm joining MinnPost as deputy editor this month. It's bittersweet to leave the ENN/Canary team but this is a dream opportunity and I can't wait to reconnect with local journalism and Minnesota.
