In the context of patriarchy, I guess any attempt by a straight man to say 'I couldn't keep up with her' can also very reasonably be read as an attempt to vilify and humiliate her for having a libido at all, let alone a stronger one than his. But we're reading an awful lot into very few words here.

That may be so but this seems more about an imbalance of libidos; if one person wants sex much more often than the other does, that's always a problem no matter how the genders fall. The idea that straight men aren't allowed to not want sex seems pretty problematic also.
