Great SD day trip: take the Coaster to Solana Beach, hike Annie's Canyon, then picnic at the beach. Lots of restaurants there too, btw. #sandiego #transittrek #familyfriendly #groupactivity #localhike #beachlife #thecoaster #solanabeach #anniescanyon

Proof of concept: Old Town Trolley Tours. But those do not connect to other vital areas of the city, like the airport, beaches, mission bay, park & rides, keeping tourism away from the locals and genuine car-free tourism from tourists.

Cliff swallow nests on the side of the I5 freeway bridge in San Diego. Two open baby bird beaks can be seen from a nest on the lower left. Photo taken in April 2025 on the coast to crest trail.

From April 2025: A walk on the coast to crest trail, by the the I5 freeway overpass. Cliff swallows were flying back and forth, from water to nests, feeding their young; here two baby birds can be seen, mouths wide open awaiting their meal. #sandiego #urbantrails #coasttocrestrrail

There is clearly very little enforcement for unsafe drivers. Also, why are front car windows being allowed to get ever darker? Thank you for your presence on the roads.

Apropos San Diego parking, what if we divert unused weekend/holiday buses to offer a tourist focused rapid bus loop? Earn revenue by offering tourists passes much cheaper than car rentals, w coupons for local businesses? (Locals could use monthly MTS pass) #parking #tourism #citycirculator #sandiego

A sign directing visitors to the 'San Diego River View'. I'm intrigued and follow the arrow.

The San Diego River viewpoint from the Junipero Serra Museum Grand Terrace. Patrons can appreciate the roaring river of cars that developers and city planners built, destroying what was the heart of this region for centuries and likely millennia.

Who needs a river view when you've got an ocean to drive to? This spot was where the Kumeyaay lived for upwards of 1,000 years (Kosay) and was also the very first European settlement in the western US. What it looks like now. #presidiopark #sandiego #freeway #carcentric #historytoday

From Old Town Transit Center to Presidio Park, an adventurous San Diego family #transittrek. Rife with history, it's hard to imagine this place as it was with the current river of cars flowing there. Beautiful nonetheless. #historicroute #sandiego #tod #oldtown

2026 Comfort Zone Challenge Step 1: bike the direct route to the library. I usually kept to the bike path, locked my bike, and walked an extra five minutes to avoid riding with cars. Those minutes add up. Whatโ€™s a trip near you where a gap creates a detour? #streetsforpeople #missinglinks #bikesd
