I can't think of any other career but journalism where a marker of elite success is angering readers on niche social media sites. When I think of how much evident contempt they have for their readers, it pales in how much contempt they have for their own institution. Who does this? Its childish.

It is funny that in trying to puff Bari up the best you can come up with is "cover and sell news." Nothing about journalism, editorial chops, ethics, accuracy, etc.

They'll pay into a system that provides for Medicare, Social Security, they'll become my doctor, my lawyer, my dentist, my healthcare worker, my librarian, the author I read, the musician I listen to.

As someone who doesn't have kids and doesn't want kids, I still have an interest in the welfare of children. I'm fine with, and expect, a higher tax burden to help with the cost parents incur. I'm paying a little more now, but will more than make up for it as these kids grow up and get jobs.

It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.
