We’re in San Juan and the hotel staff is wearing cute Bad Bunny Bowl shirts, I’m getting fired up for the halftime show even though I can’t name a single song.

Realized I only use brew as a noun when talking to Emily about beer, and the use case is exactly “yeah man, I’ll take a brew” the however many times a year she asks that Q. Maybe I could say it more, like when she asks if I’ve started the taxes or some shit.

It seems like a day extender at an age, keep you off the beers early etc.

I also suspect normal people think institutionally rather than individually in these cases. If someone says "Hey, you see Timmy was in the fuckin' Globe the other day??" the response is almost never "Who wrote the article?"

Yeah this is a huge blindspot of the terminally online. Emily has read the paper magazine every week of her adult life, doubt she'd recognize his name out of context though because she doesn't keep up on who he owns online every third Wednesday or whatever.

I try to limit that to one session. If I’m white knuckling it on a Sunday afternoon I’ll let myself finish an hour or 2 over, but otherwise: we live in a society, Steven!

I get why restaurants opened today, no judgment there, but it’s funny how many of the “we support the sentiment but need the dough” posts urged us to pay them in cash. Bud that’s your beef with credit card processing fees, which I also get, but got nothing to do with ICE protests.
