And the bit where the hero keeps recording himself speaking and making his wife listen to it (even though she was in the room when he recorded it) is the most unintentionally hilarious, “I AM A BIG MAN WITH IMPORTANT THOUGHTS” shit ever. I treasure that movie.

It holds up! Even with questionable shit like Armand Asante as a Native American, its heart is in the right place and Frankenheimer is such a great journeyman director that parts are still quite scary.

Secretly I like this more than the book? Also, a sentimental favorite because this may be the first movie my now wife and I saw in the theater together. PS-First movie at home was “the Prophecy” because mutant bears are very important to me I guess.
