To be fair, the BBC Verify report on the News last night was entirely factual, analysing the footage in a forensic way. There was no “balance” at all.

I just can’t see why they’d buy him. He’s played something like 11 times in 11 months.

I disagree with the compulsory element.

Don’t be naive. Labour put out the idea for compulsory ID cards to make themselves look tough on immigration. That’s why they briefed the press and why the press reported it. Cue outrage and the subsequent u-turn. And all it does is piss people off.
