Has any American president ever shit himself during a State of the Union?

Let them know they printed it upside-down. I'm sure they can fix it.

Everything you see, hear, taste or touch is a lie.

Only smell is true. All else is controlled by The Matrix.

The only question that can ever be known, here in Plato's cave, is: Who farted?

As for if Fox News is primarily oriented around becoming popular, rather than creating false beliefs, I think that the Dominion lawsuits showed that there are several people that know full well what they're doing.

The rank-and-file are just putting out TV, but there are those that know.

My mother was a labor union president who led a major strike during the 90s. My father had Fox News on constantly, even while sleeping. Now he's gone, and she believes everything MAGA.

I really feel that her beliefs were persuaded into existence.

Perhaps our parents (yours and mine) have social structures and personal traits that pull them toward viewing Fox News, rather than Fox News causing their beliefs.

I think that's what Hank is getting at.

Personally, I'm not sure.

So there's also the ethics of taking away all the entry-level positions, so that in the future, after the current generation of experts dies, there will be no more human experts.

06.02.2026 14:57 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The sad thing to me is that with LLMs competing, a human has no reason to write a crappy novel. LLMs will one day be able to do that easily. But without humans writing crappy first drafts, humans will no longer learn how to create great novels.

06.02.2026 14:57 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

But for a human, paying for one copy of a book and reading it is enough compensation.

06.02.2026 14:57 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, an LLM is trained on other authors' work. But so are human authors. The difference here is that LLMs train so much faster, and that training can be electronically duplicated infinitely all over the world. So paying an author for one copy while training an LLM is not enough.

06.02.2026 14:57 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Second, the ethics have to do with humanity, not the machine. An LLM cannot produce an excellent novel, it can only rehash things it saw in other (sometimes excellent) novels. Because artistic excellence is always about being a human, and an LLM has no knowledge of that.
