Not extending discrimination protections to cover #genderidentity is bad enough, but the #IowaLegislature removing protections that have been in place since 2007 is cruel and unprecedented and further proof that the #RepublicanParty is morally bankrupt.

The only truthful thing #donaldtrump ever said was that he "could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose any voters."

The audience there is MUCH bigger. It's a more friendly and receptive audience here, but to win hearts and minds (and elections) we have to be willing to go into hostile territory.

Most people pay little attention to actual policy, which provides an opening in states with Dem trifectas to both quietly pass progressive agendas that don't poll well but would do material good once enacted (ie trans right) and also popular items where Dems are more trusted (ie social safety net).

It is true that the actual impact of a policy is more important than its intent, but this is a particularly meaningless anecdote. This is the functional equivalent of advocating for reducing SNAP benefits for millions because there are a compatively small number of people who scam the system.

The innie half or the outie half?

What are the best #SNL sketches that are appropriate for, and more importantly funny to, 6-8 year olds? My kids love #DavidPumpkins, Throw It on the Ground, People Getting Punched Right Before Eating and keep asking for other sketches. I know there are a lot more out there!

Absolutely. Guns are the best example and I wish Hollywood liberals would use their influence on this. No guns rights people ever move to a pro-gun control side position due to persuasion. But if movies stopped making guns look cool, future generations would not idolize them nearly as much.

Silly me thinking that the most prescient fictional villains were Skynet and Buy n Large, but they turn out to have been Lex Luthor and Dr. Evil.

I'm so tired of the narrative that the private sector is more productive. Gov't workforce been downsized for decades and consistently does more with less. I hope that a lesson from the #AA5342 tragedy is that we need more people to carry out the responsibilities of the federal government, not fewer.
