It’s already past the “arresting and bringing frivolous charges against the opposition” and the “unidentified secret police disappearing people they don’t like” stages, with minimal pushback. So, yes, it will get much worse.

If it mimics natural immunity, doesn’t that mean that the first time it encounters a novel virus, it fails? Lots of people who got COVID-19, which people like RFK Jr. would suggest was a great chance to build immunity, actually died instead.

If it seems to open properly in Google Docs and not Word (although I’m not sure that’s true based on your description), probably your best bet is to start a new (empty) document in Word and copy and paste the content from Google Docs. Otherwise, you might have to retype it 😖.

That is very odd 😵‍💫. Did you open it in Google Docs first and then download it? That’s the only way I can think of that it would corrupt it. I’m not a fan of the Google suite at all, but have had good luck with Google Drive.

If you download it to your local drive and open it in Word, it should be fine. When you open it from Google Drive directly, it opens it in Google Docs and converts it. Not ideal, tbh.

I saw them in concert together in Toronto in 1995. Their talent is other-worldly, so I think your alien phenomenon suggestion is a solid one. Looking forward to your two beer revelation.

My trick was not to tell anyone I was writing it until it got published on the Kindle store. The second part of it was setting a future publishing date on the Kindle Direct Publishing site and knowing that I had to upload the manuscript by then.

Thank you for sharing that. I came into the world slightly after the film was made and it’s one of my favourites, but it seemed tragic that Julie Andrews didn’t get the role. I’ve listened to the gold and white LPs so often and her voice is heavenly.

Apropos of nothing (at least for the people who haven’t listened to the Broadway and London versions of the LP an infinite number of times and don’t know the source of the above), I don’t think I’ve read your opinion of them injecting Audrey Hepburn into the movie.
