For the Welsh rugby fans among us: did you know about this NFL weirdness?! Slightly before my time. Wonder what Rees-Zammit makes of it...

Also great to see that outrageous Thorburn penalty kick one more time.

Back of CD with 24-track listing, headed with text: Cellos, flutes and harpsichords and a deeply wooded feeling are the core of American baroque.

News of a new Bob Stanley compilation has sent me back to this beauty, from last year.

Includes the dreamy, wonderful 'Barefoot Gentleman' by the startlingly young The Association, plus more harpsichords than you can shake a harpsichord at.

Hear that smashing, tinkling sound? Spare a thought for all the antique shop owners out there, finally throwing out the now unsellable 1980s Andrew-n-Fergie wedding cash-in china that's been cluttering up their glass cabinets for years.

A little park wander. It's fucking cold. Despite this, there's a 17 year old boy casually wandering along in a t-shirt and, on an unrelated note, a man wheeling a pushchair containing, quite naturally, a television.

My friend recently attended a funeral, and midway through the eulogy, he became convinced that it had been written by AI.
There was the telltale proliferation of abstract nouns, a surfeit of assertions that the deceased was "not just Xβ€”he was Y" coupled with a lack of concrete anecdotes, and more appearances of the word collaborate than you would expect from a rec-league hockey teammate. It was both too good, in terms of being grammatically correct, and not good enough, in terms of being particular. My friend had no definitive proof that he was listening to AI, but his positionβ€”and I agree with himβ€”is that when you know, you know.
His sense was that he had just heard a computer save a man from thinking about his dead friend.

Same! I can't watch it again as it chimed so perfectly with who I was then, and am just not sure how it would feel now. Probably too black, too sharp.

I seem to recall lots of the songs played are on a mixtape left by the boyfriend simply labelled 'Music For You' that Morvern listens to...

Was once in an old man pub whose jukebox had the Manics' thrillingly odd 'Jackie Collins Existential Question Time'. Ka-ching!

The barman came into the room, squinted at it like it was broken, then walked away. Presumably muttering to a regular "Dunno Jim. It doesn't normally make that noise".

It is SUCH a relief when New Cat uses the litter tray for the first time. "Thank god!" (sniffs back a tear) "He KNOWS what it IS!" (fully crying while putting cleaning spray back on shelf).
