This public pressure from her close friend probably means that @eleanornorton.bsky.social is determined to run.
It's likely going to be up to DC voters to make sure we have actual representation in congress.

Also been there and 100% agree. Scary as hell.
15.09.2025 17:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Milage fees have always been a 3rd rail due to drivers demanding privacy, but there is no privacy issue for waymo. They should be charged for every minute they're on city roads.

It's a fair balance of respecting the will of the voters who knew while still keeping him at arms length because he's a crook.
Also expelling him will just end up in the same place.
And move it to DC near public transit! Spent 45 minutes in stand still traffic yesterday and friends spent 3. Would have much preferred to ride @wmata.com
02.09.2025 17:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How does the arrest rate compare? My prior are that this is just a show and there isn't a substantial change in crime, just in business in the city but I always appreciate when the data backs me up π
19.08.2025 16:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I never got down the whole path, so I don't know but I think the footprint can't be larger than 450 which is why we needed a 2 story, which also added expense.
19.08.2025 02:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Looked into an ADU build out, just the build for a 2br 800 sqft was 300k, but with DC reg complexity it pushed it to 500 plus contingency. Even at 300 it was pricey but 500k+ was unmanageable.
18.08.2025 19:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0If the @washingtonpost.com editorial board can see that the commanded deal is bad for DC taxpayers, what excuse does @mayorbowser.bsky.social or the council have?
31.07.2025 17:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We hear "DC Restaurants are Dying!" hot takes like clockwork every time one restaurant closes, meanwhile two more open to replace it and then some but that always gets ignored by the anti-I82, etc. people, enough is enough.
02.06.2025 15:05 β π 7 π 2 π¬ 1 π 1The commanders stadium is a net loss for DC taxpayers, regardless of what Bowser and Mendelson pretend.
There is zero excuses to pay the Commanders to take even more of DC's money.
As a D4X rider this can't come soon enough. I am so excited for it.

15.07.2025 12:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Are DC voters going to need to pass a third intative? Stop listening to the whining of RAMW, this is just dragging out the inevitable which makes it more painful for everyone involved.

It worries me to see people I agree with on policy echoing RW apocalyptic language.
We must fix poor policy, but we should definitely do our best to get America back to normal.
I'd encourage @usa.streetsblog.org to keep focused on the issue of transportation rather than pushing the issue into the omnicause. The success of sustainable transportation has come from focus on key issues. Animal cruelty may be an important issue but it's tangential at best.
