The issue Labour has seems to boil down to the fact that their messaging relies heavily on the cuts that they're making and the groups that are affected, to appeal to those outside the group, but those outside the group don't care so they've only lost support

The run up to this Scottish Parliament election has been dreadful, nastiness coming from all angles and we've still 3 months of it to go

It seems like they basically just wanted to slide into a Cameron era Conservative style government but the ball never bounced their way and instead were stuck with their "defer to conservatives" playbook despite having more than enough MPs to never have to do that

It seems pretty transparent to me that they
A) thought Starmer would be a popular leader that would appeal to both the Labour base and Conservatives
B) did not want or expect a landslide victory because ever since they came to power all they've tried to do is find common ground with Tory opposition

The brass neck on him for this but tbh fair play Scottish Labour should have distanced themselves from UK Labour long ago. That said Sarwar is an opportunistic chancer who goes whichever way the wind is blowing so I see this as more of a desparate cynical attempt at some good PR than anything else.

I would just reiterate, that it seems unlikely that I, Just A Guy, A Regular Guy, knew more in-depth detail about Peter Mandelson's links to Jeffrey Epstein than the Prime Minister off the United Kingdom who was at the time considering appointing him as Ambassador to the United States.
