Based on how these men are dressed how would you know who they are, who they are working for, what their authority is? No badges, no uniforms, at lease some are without masks this time.

I guess we can now simplify down from eleventy-billion definitions of democracy down to "is there a masked secret police disappearing people?"

That’s the hiccup in asking police for identification. They don’t listen and often get more aggressive.

I was thinking something similar.

We have to understand how dangerous it is to democracy when democratically elected officials are arrested. We must not allow it to be normalized. Every Democrat across the country must demand his release.

For instance: If murders in Baltimore were UP 40%, then Mayor Brandon Scott would be a national figure. Instead it's gone down that amount so no one knows who he is.

It's pretty notable that mainstream, establishment discourse never ever ever considers giving liberal politicians credit for crime reductions. It's almost axiomatic that if crime goes down under a center-left leader it's either unremarked upon, or must be driven by something else.

Teaching is a 24/7 job. The school day does not end at 2pm and we don't have weekends off. Planning, grading, and managing crises take up most of our time.
