Can be effective with quick-strike plays but typically gets muted when his check arrives. Not strong enough in battles. Doesn’t appear to compete on every shift (though his competitive shifts should give the Bruins hope — he’s made a few plays under fire, but I stress: a few)

Not writing off Lysell even though he hasn’t broken through yet. Has the tools to be a 50-60 point wing, and every team could use one of those.

-- There won't be an all-sports Team USA House in Milan that fans can go to and rub elbows with athletes.

But USA Hockey, Figure Skating and Speedskating are setting up their own Ice House, as they're calling it, as a home base for fans, sponsors, VIPs and athletes to watch and hang in Milan.

-- Rivalry Series games with Canada are Nov. 6 (Cleveland), Nov. 8 (Buffalo), and two more in Canada in December (TBA).

-- Final rosters (men and women) coming early January.

-- USA also looking at training in Europe in late January, possibly Switzerland, once PWHL goes on break.

Caught up with Team USA women's hockey today. A few notes:

-- PWHL presence has eliminated the need for the traditional Olympic-year residency. USA will do weeklong training camps every month until Milan.

-- They're in Plymouth, Mich. the second week of Sept., then Blaine, Minn. in October.
