IMO I don't think this child was trotted out. I think he was outside of the school he just had to flee from because someone decided they could take the lives of children in a horrific violent way. He spoke to journalists. Maybe his parents decided it was ok. Maybe he wanted to tell his story.

I think as adults we are upset hearing him say what happened and thus traumatized by his trauma. Our quick reaction is to say, "why are they putting this child through that interview?" He is just sharing what happened and his concern for a friend.

Maybe putting a 10 year old in a school shooting is the diabolical part. He's just telling his story. Horrific as it is. Listen, be horrified, and then do something so it doesn't happen again.
