LA folks: Hundreds of Beavers (@hundredsofbeavers.bsky.social) starts a 3-day run today at the @newbeverly.bsky.social! Check out the brand new 35mm print & grab one of my posters there while you're at it.

An illustration I drew in pen to be signed at a showing of the movie "Hundreds of Beavers." At the top of the page, I recreated the movie title, "Hundreds of Beavers," in the same font as the movie poster (but with an added exclamation point and question mark, making it "HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS?!"). The main character of the movie, Jean Kayak (played by Ryland Brickson Cole Tews)'s head sits centre stage (evoking a Looney Tunes title card), with a fearful expression. He's wearing his iconic raccoon hat. To the right of Jean is a speech bubble directed at him saying "GULP!" Behind him are an innumerable amount of angry beaver heads ... including a tiny cameo from Dagget and Norbert, another famous pair of angry beavers. To the side is my own signature, with my Bluesky username. Beneath the illustration is Ryland Brickson Cole Tews' signature, with the words "TO KIRSTEN!" above it!

@hundredsofbeavers.bsky.social My wife, son, and I watch this movie once daily at the request of my three year old. More impressive is that he carries around the art book from the Blu-Ray and shows it to everyone. Here we're at the children's museum. We do not ask him to do this. He just does it.
