Foucault might not think it that much of a change. Probably depends on the type of learning environment.

28.01.2026 10:37 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I don't always agree with Jessie but the idea that voting is only as good as the voters and more action is needed for change seems intuitive. Progressive groups have often had mixed motives and bad elements. Critical reflection over ideals and methods seems a good idea.

04.12.2025 19:50 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I have to say I find the suggestion that capitalism is a) newish and therefore something we can do with out, and b) basically all oppression ever, very confusing.

And debt peonage is, as I understand it, the traditional way to free slaves in name only while still retaining them.
The UK has a memorial that was basically put together illegally by a group of campaigners and a guerilla protest stunt group.
16.11.2025 13:25 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It could. I can see advantages either way. The visuals of the votes have their uses but aren't that important. Simplicity is also helpful.
Saying that, can you imagine the reaction to an MP losing their phone...
Let's redesign how the whole system works (attendance, the debates and voting model used (the MPs who skip the debates to work and are called in for the vote is bad look however sensible in theory), etc.) and massively publicise the whole thing while we're at it.

It is also a really unsafe building (although I suspect many secret Guy Fawkes fans might think this a plus).
I do worry it will be a hard sell to many of the cynical public for a new building that can fit everyone given that it will be near empty a lot of the time.
This makes a lot of sense. I do think that the argument that even those 437 are often nearly empty does need factoring in as we should ask what parliament and our MPs are actually for. However, I suspect a new building and a new working arrangement would resolve these issues.
