Most of my immediate family are ND. I used to describe myself as normal - my BIL called me 'ordinary'. Since my ASD assessment I've realised most of my friends at school were also ND. It all makes so much sense now.

1977. Citizenship can be by birth, descent, or grant. Need to be a permanent resident for 3 years before you can get it by grant. Sounds like descent is limited to the first generation. Odd that children of NZ citizens can't automatically get permanent residency when the children of migrants can!

Community Associations who host these often live stream them. I've watched two hosted by the Johnsonville CA on YT. You can often post a question before the meeting which the moderator can ask the candidates to respond to.

The Johnsonville Community Association ones have been quite tame. The recordings are on YT so I watched the Regional Council candidates live stream and Mayoral candidates on playback. Ward candidates next week should be fun!
