Pitchers and catchers have reported. It was 72 and sunny in Charlotte today. Nature is healing.

Purchased 2x64GB DDR4 ECC RAM about a year ago from eBay for a new to me workstation, and today for the same money I think I can get one 32GB stick. Crazy.

Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.

Cake Founding Guitarist Greg Brown Has Died Greg Brown, the founding guitarist for Cake, has died. The band’s social media account announced the news today, saying he passed β€œafter a brief illness.” Greg Brown co-founded the droll alt-rock band...

This is very, very sad. Even though he hasn’t been a member of Cake since β€˜97 he was still a huge influence on their sound and overall vibe. I’m so sad to hear about this I’m a really big fan of this band.

Let's dispel with the fiction that the NFL doesn't know what it's doing.

We need a β€œhow they did it” interview with the lead cameraman and planners behind this halftime show ASAP. That was one of the most impressive logistical accomplishments I’ve ever seen

Your Cherokee words for today.
The top word is English followed by how it is written in the Cherokee language followed by how it is spelled in English then how to pronounce it phonetically.

I have seen my bottom freezer contents frosted over because it was slightly opened (darn kids!) but the door alarm never beeped. But you didn't see any frost, so yeah, weird.

I've told this story on ContrabandCamp but it's worth sharing for BHM because it's one of the greatest stories ever.

A thread.

A four-panel comic. The first one is a developer holding a thing and saying "This lives in one of your services, where should I put it?" then the payments team saying "That's not our domain, that's a product concern", then the product team saying "That's not us, that's a payments problem", and finally the developer putting the thing in a new service saying "I guess this goes here then". The text at the end says "And that is how microservices are born".

Based on a true story.

Best two buck meal available, with a little shot of that sour cream packet on top!

Probably the healthier thing on the menu too

A Bombardier Challenger, a 12-person business jet. The jet has a tall T-tail in back, twin aft engine pods mounted off the fuselage, low-mounted wings, an arrowhead cabin, and tiny winglets, elements of 80s jet designs. The livery is white, blue, and red, with silver leading edges; the white is the bulk of the plane's sides, the blue forms the underbelly of the wings and body, and there is a thin red stripe running between white and blue, recalling the naval flag C; the logo is on the tail itself.

Over its history, Commodore Business Machines had three different small aircraft; by the 80s, they were nicknamed the PET JET.

How come we have anger management but not stupidity management?
You can be stupid but I can't be angry?
Your stupidity is probably why I'm angry in the first place.

Family had not a lot of money at the time, sister and I kids in the backseat sans seatbelt, we'd get pizza take out and drive to Rising Park. Eat in the car, Dad always ate the corners, then feed the ducks with bits of crust. Still miss it...
