TS6 is great for voice, but everything else is kinda meh/clunky.

Best Discord alternative I've found has been Fluxer. Its UI is wildly familiar if you've used Discord, and it's open-source. Currently no e2ee, but it's on the roadmap. Solo dev, but lotta functional features already.

Like, I actually gave up on the newer DX games, because I found myself more trying to figure out how to game the systems, instead of just playing it.

That is 100% on me, of course. But that was the breaking point for me, vs, say Dishonoured, or even System Shock (both games iirc allowed backtrack)

FWIW I agree with you. Because once XP is introduced, I'm gonna treat the ImSim as an RPG; which means maxing my XP gain, even if it means breaking my "playstyle". Once I'm done on a map, I'm not able to go back to it, and feel like I'm "wasting" XP if I miss something.

It's Will Ferell doing Will Ferell things in a christmas movie. If you like his stuff, you'll love Elf.
There's some cringey parts, some genuinely funny bits; overall, a wonderfully wholesome experience.

Absolutely adore these movies. They're so dang fun to watch, and it's easy to tell they had a blast making them.

The first one draws you in with claustrophobia and tension. After that, you stay because it gets so, so, damn unhinged!

Last night we started watching American Psycho.
About 30 seconds into it, I got up, paused it, and went, "nope. Tonight we watch The Machinist (2004 Christian Bale)"

They've never seen it before and they were mesmerized by it

Watched Weapons last night. What a darkly, delightfully, deliciously disturbing movie. It starts as a dark mystery, and by the third act, it sets the fight-or-flight response tingling. Every second, tension and desperation ratchets tighter.

My personal actions at work yesterday will not stop the tide. But patiently teaching an improperly trained person may help them navigate the tide a bit better. And hopefully, they can teach others/their coworkers how to navigate, and so on, and on, until, hopefully, the tide is nothing more.

Ultimately? WE must make the decision to collectively stop it.
Until then? We continue to show boldness and compassion, in the face of anger, hate, fear.

When an elected official does not represent us, or only represents the worst of/in us, it is us who will represent ourselves - from the hyper-local, to the global. Words, music, art, actions, all spiral out.

We embody the ideal in whatever way we can. We take whatever platform we have available (work, art, social media, clubs, etc) and we share it with others in whatever big or small way we can. How we act on the playing field; a convo with a coworker; a post online.
