Factory was high on its own supply in those days. "Recorded in Sheffield, São Paulo, London, and in Chicago." I seem to remember Carroll lived in Brazil? Did they record in Brazil to get that authentic samba sound or was it because it was local?

A class album. It should have been a lot bigger than it was. I think Factory did their normal crap practically non-existent marketing for it.

Missed the first support High Drive as they were on at 7.15!!! Second support was Lizzie Esau who I've been trying to see for a long time and she didn't disappoint.

First up were Telecom who have a very '60s sound that harks back to the Beatles and the Monkees. They even have a Mellotron keyboard and a Vox Phantom to get the full '60s sound

Out tonight to see the Roebucks and Telecom at the Hope & Ruin Brighton. This will be the 13th time I've seen The Roebucks and just the second for Telecom.

So sad to hear of the passing of Andrew ‘The Clobber’ Ranken. He was a terrific drummer who was absolutely integral to The Pogues raw, unconfined sound - his snare at the start of Sally MacLennane illustrating the point.

Thinking of his friends and family.

Headliners tonight are the Molotovs. If I was 18 that would have been the greatest gig ever, I'm considerably older than 18 but it's still one of the best gigs I've ever been to. One hour, at least 18 songs and a lot of jumping around.

Out tonight to Kingston College to see The Molotovs supported by Emerson for a Banquet Records out store. First up are mod(Ish) inspired band Emerson who play an 8 song set of original material and a cover of Taxman and a Town Called Malice

Headliners are Tummyache who are about to play around the UK for the next couple of weeks. Go see them.

Third on the bill were Human Interest who I saw last year supporting Jasmine.4.T and who played so well at Byrne's Night last weekend.

Second tonight at the Hidden Herd showcase were glam rockers Not Richard & Her Majesty. They rocked.
