IMO this is a fine situation when you have no national-level face of the party (pres candidate). That’s ultimately what will determine dem fortunes.

There is a massive evidence from history around the world that ppl hate corruption. But it’s not animating ppl here because dems seem complicit! When asked about trumps corruption, they pivot in a manner exactly like trumps defenders in the gop.

People hate corruption and they love freedom and the constitution, but these are abstract concepts. When you can attach these feelings to images and events, that is very good.

This is true…but. There are some substitutes for these products, and consumers can also avoid buying altogether. This is also a bet that people won’t remember or care enough to change purchasing decisions.

I’ve seen this mistake several times now, and you have to start questioning whether the proponents of moderation actually want to mislead.
