Fighting the urge to buy a camera because I have a mild interest in photography and I'm dissatisfied with the ease and quality of my phone camera.

By the time they left in 1948, they had helped establish the state of Israel on what was Palestinian territory.
In other words, colonialism bad.
Had myself a read on the history of Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In short, fuck colonialism.

I've always thought being an author only applied to writing novels (which I'd like to do though not exclusively), but it can be more than that.
Being an author is being the creator of an original work, whether it's textual, visual, audial, etc.
I want, and have always wanted, to be an author.

I didn't specifically want to work in game production. What I'm striving towards in games, I can also get in movies, shows, podcasts and other multimedia formats.
I was also super into the worldbuilding of franchises like Marvel, DC, W40K, FNAF, etc.
That's when it clicked: I want to be an author.
Growing up, I could not figure out what I wanted to be. I knew what I liked (music, stories, art, games, movies, tech), but I couldn't figure out how to translate all of those into a career.
Eventually I realised that I can consolidate everything into game production, but something was missing...
A small pet peeve: I don't like how YouTube includes previewed videos (like when you hover over it and it plays a preview in the thumbnail) in your watch history.
I'll go to my watch history to rewatch something, and it's mildly annoying to find something I know I didn't actually watch.
My rendition of the rainbow flag using purely saturated RGB values. From top to bottom, pinkish red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, lighter blue, and purple.

I love to listen and hate saying no to people, but sometimes I just want to be left undisturbed.
Same thoughts here, brilliant movie!!! It hits the mark on where a lot of superhero movies miss nowadays. Amazing storytelling from Gunn and the other writers.
👏👏👏
If by “woke” they mean “delves into the ways in which people dehumanise each other for sociopolitical gain”, then yeah it’s super woke.
And it is amazing nonetheless. I love the movie.
People call things “woke” as an insult or criticism, but I don’t think they even know what they mean by that.
(Don’t think I need to clarify this but I will anyway because someone will try to stump me on this: Superman is not there to destroy the world.)
15.07.2025 18:13 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This is why I decided to pursue a degree in game production. Games are awesome mediums for storytelling, apparently so now that BAFTA recognises them in their nominations and awards.
I hope to one day produce a game (or some piece of media) that delivers the same affection as these movies.
Everything I've said about the movie here is brilliantly weaved into the plot, and that is something a lot of superhero movies today miss the mark on: storytelling.
Storytelling is more than just a sequence of events. We tell stories to communicate ideas and share wisdom.
The movie provides an answer that I love.
Regardless of what it means to be human, what it means to be good or bad, we make choices. Choices have consequences, and those choices are what we're known for.
To put it simply, actions speak louder than words. We lead by example instead of testimony.
And so it begs the question: what does it mean to be human?
This question is incredibly open-ended, and the answers are super subjective. Is it biological? Is it neurological? Is it ideological? Is it even any of those things? Answers vary, and it's often the core of a lot of sociopolitical debate.
Superman may not be of Earth, but he represents virtues a lot of us strive to have: kindness, compassion, responsibility, peace, unity, and more.
People like Luthor don't care about those. They see it as weak and wasteful. The only thing that matters to them is power because that keeps you on top.
Luthor has an agenda. He kidnaps and kills in the name of his goal, and he knows Superman stands against that. So what does Luthor do?
He dehumanises Superman.
He points out that he's an alien; that he is not human; that his power is dangerously unregulated; that he is here to destroy the world.
The story of Superman in this film touches on a topic that is super important today: what does it mean to be human?
Nowadays, people are constantly dehumanised to fulfil some kind of social, economic, or political agenda. It brings about prejudice, discrimination, displacement, assault, and death.
And all those claims that it’s “woke”, total bullshit. Right-wing media commentators recognise the parallel between Trump and Luthor, and to admit Luthor is the villain would require them to recognise the same traits in Trump (which they refuse to do).
They are glaringly delusional.
Just saw Superman, amazing movie!! Amazingly written and well directed, James Gunn knows how to do it.

Sure. Make that make sense in court I guess.
Furthermore, if it is intentional, is that intention there to provide a sense of originality, whereas more preset-oriented tools can feel a bit less personal?
But also, the fine control over parameters is there in case presets are just a little off the mark.
Maybe it’s a bit of both.
(rambling)
When designing a creative software tool like a digital audio workstation, off the shelf game engine, or digital art program, is the allowance of more variable control over parameters intentional?
I look at all these complex tools with infinite possibilities, but only ever needing a few prm. combos.
