It's embarrassing that it's this close, but I knew this would happen! A year ago I sent a mail to Bruce asking him to do the right thing in the comp plan because he will get voted out anyway. Glad to see that is now happening.

I think this was their plan to make up for the short comings of the comp plan that was all about giving in to nimby's. Just think of the great walkability on 1st or 4th ave that would have been. So for me, good this failed. For the wrong reasons, but the right outcome.

I remember when SDOT proudly posted the improvements on 24th Ave - a couple of flex posts on a few intersections. A total joke of an outcome for 6 years and 6mm dollars.

This is the primary reason I plan to leave the US. In my lifetime, they will only build ugly, dark, smelly new. And they can only build it along busy noisy smelly corridors. generations of ghettoisation.

The next step up is SFH for people and that barrier will become more and more insurmountable.

In NE Seattle, Rivera won by 235 votes, causing the council to swing NIMBY, causing housing to be delayed in Seattle and could cost us in WA, because of lack of new residents, an electoral vote in the next election. Remind me again why voting doesn't matter.

Well she is on her way out, she knows it, so she is voting her "conscience" which is to hope to land a spot on some board of directors for some conservative business.

I am confused why we call it devastating effect. I would call this "the anticipated, demanded, celebrated, worthwhile effect".

this is what was understood, explained, and weighed by those now impacted. it's exactly what they hoped for.

the sad thing is this is the truth. Th even sadder thing is that the rest of America looks up to Seattle, when in actuality it's a pretty sad place to be outside of a car.

clearly, we need to build more car housing so the cars can keep up, add more lanes for them to move, and... well you know the game.
