Same. Not a lawyer so is just my lay person reading of the ruling but it seems pretty explicit that biologically female as well as female-presenting (ie not trans men) are primary in the case of single sex spaces.

That’s the thing, if you “present” male you should use male loos. And then we start with the women who have shaved heads or a strong jaw or are tall and suddenly people start asking for birth certificates.

Well I *think* the Supreme Court’s ruling is the law? And the guidance is to help organisations interpret it? But it sounds like those found not adhering could be liable for a sex discrimination claim. The government could change the law, tho.

The challenge for many who want to do that tho is how they do it *and* comply with the law. No doubt a lot of people will be finding test cases to sue for discrimination and to so many venues with loos eg it will become untenable. It’s such a mess of a ruling.

If your birth certificate is the route to accessing a loo anywhere in public good luck to us all finding them in our parents’ lofts. Or at all. I didn’t have needing ID to use the loo for 2025 but here we seem to be.

Sounds to me like the worst possible outcome from the Supreme Court ruling is about to transpire. Leaving aside the indignity for trans people, how is your local community centre, swimming baths, pub or restaurant going to police this to prevent bad faith actors suing them.

I am on the hunt for series at the moment (nearing the end of a Succession rewatch) so I may go back in. Or was debating Scandal (only rewatched The Good Wife recently so too soon to go again).

Nope. I liked the show but found it a bit stressful to watch but that whole episode had me on the edge and I was like you know what I do not need to subject myself to this. And there was a lack of calm and colour for me to handle to stress and the gloom of most of it.

I had to stop at the Christmas lunch episode. The anxiety was just too much for me to get through it. I needed it to have more joy (and maybe some sex).

Also, filler is fine but at 2-4am is non-stop “news” so just do that and let the pundits write your live blog.
