03.09.2025 18:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Clearly they don't know the adage "Prevention is better than cure".
Vaccines don't cure diseases, for the most part. They stop you getting them.
How is that not immediately and obviously better?
because no one else in his Cabinet can.
Except Miller, and he bites.
Did you ask them about dressing every day *except* Halloween?
Bonus, then on Halloween you can say "I'm dressed up as someone normal".
What are they planning in place of science and medicine?
Oh, let me guess, thoughts and prayers?
so, at least he still has some purpose?

Beautiful writing about sad reality.

Went ahead and updated my map of cities with higher crime than D.C. to accommodate the two new states from the Deep South who are sending troops to the capital. In the five states there are 64 cities, home to 1.7 million people, that had more crime in 2024 than D.C.

Whitewashing is so.much the literally term here.
Still, history has taught us that painting over the bad stuff really doesn't work forever. Let's hope we see this fail.
I honestly cannot see how anyone with a science degree, or indeed any educational qualification, could ever vote for (still less fund) any party arguing againt reality.

18.08.2025 12:36 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Really frustrating seeing journalists continue using โpeace deal.โ This is such an insult to Ukrainians. What โpeace dealโ implies is rewarding a terrorist state committing genocide and an illegal invasion by an aggressor.

30 September 1938, Neville Chamberlain returned home to Britain with the Munich Agreement, signed by Adolf Hitler, ceding the Sudetenland to Germany, and proclaimed โPeace for our timeโ.
Less than 1 year later.. World War 2 was underway..
Never appease dictators..
Fight them..
I'm still pretty happy to meet new players *now*...

leaving aside the "President" faces, why does the Mona Lisa's face appear to be poorly matched photofit?

08.08.2025 22:01 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Russia is the aggressor!
Russia invaded Ukraine!
Russia must be forced to make concessions if we want to avoid future war. Instead, Ukraine is pressured to make them, which will encourage future wars.
It's our land! Our people live there!
Disrespectful and disgusting.
Honestly not an insult but I first read that website address as Horny Democrats and was like "hmm, a new niche?"

"I'll stop invading (for a while) if you give me all the land I might get by invading."
Also, his word means nothing.
I'm surprised I could even recall it... maybe it was repeated later. But the inspiration was definitely similar.

Still, on a par with Alan Garner for portraying some very weird world alongside our own.
And the pylon imagery still sticks with me.
